MIG (Macrium Image Guardian) does protect your images against RansomeWare modification.

As far as I know (I don't use the function myself.) MIG is not a real time total system protector against ransomware.  It only protects Reflect images from being altered by ransomware.  Now, it could be said, indirectly, it's protection against ransomware because if you do get infected, your images won't be affected.  And you can use those images to restore your system to a state made at the time the image was taken.  However, it won't protect any other file types besides Reflect images.
