A wish feature is for more control over notifications.   For example -
  - Update notifications are great, but do they need to pop up once / hour?
   - If the "starting backup" dialog was enabled, the tray notification that backup is starting is redundant.
  - Have an option for stronger notification of backup failure.   Not sure how it happens, but I have gone days without a backup because I didn't check the logs for successful backups.

Hi @MikeN

Thanks for posting. It is possible to remove the hourly notifications, when an update is available, click File > Configure Check to show the update settings, then uncheck 'Hourly background checks' and click Ok to save the settings. Please see this KB for further assistance.

We have also recently added tray notifications for failed backups, these should also appear in the Windows 10 notification panel. You can also send emails of failed backups, please see the following KB for assistance with this.

Kind regards
