Hello:
Ran some backups yesterday and today in which the Full + one Differential image files were ≈7.5 GB and an Incremental =11 GB. Total selected for backup (log extracts provided at end) was:
Full: 46.84 GB
Dif: 47.7 GB
Inc: 58.97 GB

Context: I’m currently running two complete Win7 installs on different disks that I call Production and Test defined as follows:
Prod: OEM (HP) based Win7 Pro recently re-deployed to almost all new hardware (only retained the SSD/HDDs) with around 8 yrs accumulated clutter + OEM “bloat”
Test: fresh Win7 install

All backups are of Test. The full and Differential were run from within Test whilst the Incremental was run from Prod. I ran the Incremental from Prod in the (apparently mistaken) belief that an image created from outside of the target Boot/OS drive would run faster than one created from within the target.

I’ve some quick calcs:
Full image file size divided by Selected = 14.94%
Dif image file size divided by Selected change = 58.14%
Inc image file size divided by Selected change = 97.6%
Inc image file size divided by Selected = 18.65%
It looks like the Incremental was actually made as if it were a Full

I have obviously misunderstood the Full-Differential-Incremental relationship. I’d certainly appreciate being educated.

Best Regards,
Art H.

@AHansen, the "Total Selected" is the size of the partition(s) being imaged, the "New File" is the size of the image being taken.  Based on that, all looks just fine.  DIFFERENTIALS are the image difference since the last FULL was taken, and INCREMENTALS are the image difference between the most recent Full/Diff/Inc taken.

Yours look just fine!
