Hi.  Saw the message with the 7.1.2885 update to make a new Windows PE recovery disk.

Inserted my current PE disk for the update.  It's a DVD-Rand worked fine as the PE disk.

This time, Macrium ejects the disk with a message: "Insert Erasable or Rewritable Media".

Tried reformating the DVD-R in Win10, but that failed.

Why can't Macrium update my Win PE disk?

Thanks.

DVD-R (Recordable) media is only write-once, as opposed to DVD-RW (ReWritable).  That has nothing to do with Reflect; it's just the nature of the discs.  In your case you'd need to burn new Rescue Media to a new (blank) DVD-R, or even CD-R since Rescue Media files should easily fit on a CD unless you have a huge driver library or use a large custom WIM file rather than the default.  If you wanted to be able to update existing media, you'd need to use DVD-RW (or CD-RW), or of course use a USB flash drive instead of a disc.

Duh.  Thanks for your response and SORRY for such a dumb question.  Been so long since I've looked at a DVD, forgot the -R and -RW difference.
