In brief, for users who are cloning one disk to another and keeping both the source and target attached going forward, the fact that the volume labels match can make it difficult to easily and reliably distinguish source from target when browsing in Windows Explorer, especially if the two disks have identical capacities.  Or at the very least even if the user knows which drive letter is which, the matching labels might cause them to inadvertently select the wrong disk -- and of course even drive letters aren't totally persistent.

This gave rise to discussion of having an option in Reflect to modify the volume label of the target disk in some way after a clone operation so that it is visually differentiated from the source, with specific ideas of how this might work discussed in the thread linked above.
