I've cloned my C: drive (let's call that disk A) to an identical external drive (let's call that disk B).  Both drives are identical Samsung SSD's: 840EVO (part number MZ7TE1T0HMHP).  Then I install disk B into my PC to test it.  It seemingly boots up normally and many of the folders and files on it seem correct.  However, I am not able to attach external drives (neither SSD, HDD nor flash drive) to the USB ports and have them show up as drives in my file explorer.  When the drives are connected I get the familiar "ding" sound associated with newly-connect USD devices but no drive appears.  I also have several other USB connectivity issues such as a non-functioning printer, mouse, etc.  I and a colleague have wrested with this problem with no success.  I am aware of idiosyncrasies with Windows/USB in not automatically assigning drive letters to external drives and I have explicitly applied recommended fixes but with no results.  Can you help?  Thanks.  Steve

Did you install the cloned drive back to the same PC or a different PC?

Kind Regards
