I don't need to receive notifications that a backup has started or finished in the middle of whatever I'm doing, so I go to Settings | Notifications and Actions, and turn it off. However, when Reflect updates, it creates a new one, leading to multiple versions all of which need to be turned off.

Hi There are two areas where you need to remove e-mail notifications (a) Default settings which stop e-mail notification settings for new backup definitions, and (b) The e-mail notification settings of existing backup definitions:
(a) From the 'Other Tasks' menu of Reflect select 'Edit Defaults'. In the dialog seen at the top select 'E-mail'; now in the left side of dialog select 'Email success' and in the right pane remove the tick against 'Send Email notifications on successful backups'. Then in the left pane select 'Email failure' and in the right pane remove the tick against 'Send Email notification on failed backups' > 'OK'. (b) Now right click the backup definition you are using and select 'Advanced Properties'. In the new dialog seen select 'E-mail' at the top;. now in the left side of dialog select 'Email success' and in the right pane remove the tick against 'Send Email notifications on successful backups'. Then in the left pane select 'Email failure' and in the right pane remove the tick against 'Send Email notification on failed backups' > 'OK'.
If you have more than one backup definition you will need to repeat (b) for each backup definition.
Hopefully this will stop updates regenerating e-mails Regards, et

Thanks for that et_and_family, however, I appear to have made my usual mistake of not giving nearly enough information. I have Windows 10, and that pops up notifications from the action bar of running or finished backups in the bottom right of the screen. In order to turn this off, I open the Notifications Menu, click 'All Settings', 'System', 'Notifications and Actions', and scroll down. When I scroll down, I see multiple versions of 'Macrium Reflect Disk Imaging and Backup', all but the latest of which are set to 'off', these previously disabled notifications I assume have been uninstalled/upgraded, and left behind the old Notification, which is just a black box. The only one that is enabled is the one with the Macrium logo. Again I'm assuming this is after an upgrade where the previous version is left un-linked so the icon is black. It's easy enough to turn it off again, but it appears I've done this four times already.

This is NOT a Reflect issue it is a Windows issue. It happens with other programs. The link below is supposed to work in Win 7 and newer systems. It can help if you are comfortable working with the registry. It also suggests a program that can do this for you.

Thanks for sharing that response, I shall look into fixing my issue. With respect however, I feel I need to point out that the ethos of my question was to raise the issue in case others find it, and don't know where to start fixing it. Of course, I could have looked the issue up as a Windows issue, and fixed it, but it really ISN'T just a Windows issue, it's a Windows AND Macrium Reflect issue (otherwise it'd happen with every application with notifications). Which either Microsoft and/or Macrium could fix. If a Macrium developer was to see this post, they may be prompted to attempt a fix in later versions.

Hi DarthMonkey,
Our developers are active on this forum. They also help out with the day to day support requests. The issue you are experiencing has already been reported many times and is related to Windows. We have already raised bug reports with Microsoft and I'm sure other software vendors have. It's not unique to Reflect.
The link posted by Drac144 may help resolve the issue.

Hi this issue still persists in V7 Home. Looks like indeed multiple entries are the result of previous upgrades? Can the be removed from windows registry.
