hello, i have a samsung galaxy s20 with a 512GB micro SDXC card that is almost full and i want to clone the contents to a 1TB micro SDXC card that i just bought. both cards are using exFAT file system.
is this possible to accomplish using my PC with macrium reflect 8?
im stuck in the cloning window. it won't let me expand the selected partition to fill the available space on the destination 1TB micro SDXC card. what do i do now?

Hi @west80,
There should be no issue with the cloning process between the two SDXC cards, however regarding extending the ExFAT partition this is not possible in reflect. Only NTFS and Fat32 partitions can be extended/shrunk during the clone operation.
An alternative would be to create a file and folder backup of the entire partition and then restore this to the new SDXC card, this will allow you to have the partition extended to 1Tb. With this, you will also have a backup of the card in the event of failure or the card becoming lost.

using file and folder backup, i would have to save the backup to a PC and then restore to the larger SD card? would this copy all hidden system files and folders on the SD card and retain original dates and times of files and folders? exact copy of the 512 GB SD card to the 1TB SD card, except for the extra space as the only difference on the second larger SD card?
i created an image last night of the SD card. can i use this on the larger SD card or will i run into the same issues i did when trying to clone?

Never done it, but it appears an exFAT can be resized to fill available free space. However, it requires a 3rd party partitioning program and there are a number of free ones available.
EDIT: You may be able to use Windows Disk Management to do the job.
I would restore your image of the SD card and after ensuring it did copy your files as intended, I'd start up one of the partitioning tools and try it. If you prefer, you could set up the larger card with a small partition and then see if you can extend it - saving the time and effort of doing the restore first.

is there any way to do this process without exclusions? i want to do an exact copy.
