I backup over WiFi and after reading my logs, I see that my incrementals only take about 3 to 8 minutes to complete, but takes an additional 10 minutes of time and bandwidth to consolidate the aging incrementals that are going to be deleted by the end of the week anyway. I would like to be able to turn off the incremental consolidation feature in the advanced properties of the backup definition. I use a GFS scheme that keeps a manual Full forever, weekly Differentials forever, and daily Incrementals for 14 days. Does anyone have any suggestions for a solution or work around for this issue? Thanks!

If you want all 14 of those INCREMENTALS to be valid at any given point on your timeline, the oldest ones MUST MERGE. Incrementals are possibly based on FULLs (if no DIFFs or INCs), DIFFs (if no previous INCs), and INCs if they exist... that's the only way you can get accurate INCs and keep their images as small as possible.
