I'm trying to look up the differences between Differential & Incremental images especially in regards to restoring an image, so decided on the MR knowledge base but it keeps asking for log in details, I entered my MR forum details but they don't work as I'm asked to enter them again a few seconds later.
I ask can users log in & if so which details do I use?
Thanks,

Try this for an explanation: http://knowledgebase.macrium.com/display/KNOW/Differential+and+incremental+disk+images

Personally I'm using the "Incremental Forever-Synthetic Full" backup plan.
See jphughan's advice about it:

That's the problem, whenever I visit the knowledge base I'm asked to log in so cannot read anything without being interrupted every 2 seconds asking me to log in. I have tried entering my MR forum credentials but they don't work. I wish to know what log in details I need.
It's more on about restoring an incremental & differential backup & whether I choose the diff/incremental or the original full backup then choose the later differential or incremental backup. I'll be doing synthetic full backups once the new features are implemented in MR7 & keeping the drive connected at all times.

Just click Cancel each time. I only notice it when reading the KB from an iOS device. It is rather annoying though, rather like the bug that truncated the first character of quoted forum posts when posting from iOS.

But there's no difference at all between image types when it comes to restoring. You just select the backup from the date to which you wish to restore and Reflect will use whatever files are required in the background to get you there. No need to manually restore the Full first, then Diff, etc.

Brilliant thanks @jphughan. Smile
Yes I'm on my iPad so that explains the log in 'problem'.
