I had a one-time license for MR 8 home edition that expired in October 2023. I purchased a new license (now an annual subscription) and updated the license key in the interface. I have 4 machines. On 2 desktop machines, it works no problem. On 2 portables, it asks me to transfer the license when I reboot. Not every reboot, but after a day or so. On "re-registering" the license, MR runs OK.
One of the portables has Windows 11 pre-release, the other is Windows released version.

I'm also seeing this on a Windows 11 laptop, also after moving from an expired license to a new annual subscription.

We believe this is due to the option "use random hardware addresses" in Windows being enabled.

Can you please disable this option in Windows and see if this issue still occurs?

This was already disabled. Maybe this additional information is helpful:
The portables and the desktops are all on a VPN (Mullvad) and the IP changes from time to time for all 4 machines. However, only the portables are wireless.
Today, the problem happened again on one portable. Yesterday, the portable was on my home wifi. In the evening, it was on an external wifi it had not seen before. This morning, it was again on the home wifi. The prompt "Your license is not registered to this hardware" appeared.
