I have five separate backups. Email setting for all three possible results of all five backups is the same,

For some time now, I only receive two or three of the emails requested.

Log files all show email sent and no problems

Please resolve this.

Thanks

Not a lot of information to get a resolution just yet. What does the job log say for the ones that do not generate emails as expected?

You seem to be assuming that this is a Reflect issue in spite of the log. Do you have visibility on the receiving side to help establish that? Or you could perform a packet capture to actually see Reflect complete the SMTP session.

Or try adding another email recipient in another domain to see if there are differences in which recipients get a given email.

It's random. Used to work fine, until recently. And as I am often not there when the backups happen (sure I can check the log, but an email response is what I need), packet capture is not an option, not to mention I'm 20 years out of IT and wouldn't know what to look for. I use Thunderbird as a desktop client for Proton Mail, and they never reach Proton either.

I could change the email address, but I want it to my main email, and that's a workaround. I would like a solution!

I wasn’t suggesting another recipient as a solution, but as an information-gathering exercise. Again, send to TWO email recipients simultaneously (use a semicolon to add more), not a different single recipient. If one mailbox gets the email and your main account doesn’t, then you can stop looking at Reflect.

The bottom line is that you’re saying it used to work reliably and now it doesn’t. So something changed, but you don’t have enough visibility into what that is. You just asked this forum to resolve it. That will involve more information than you’ve provided, and possibly more than you currently have yourself.

Packet capture wouldn’t require you to be present. Just enable it with a filter set to only log outbound traffic on whatever port you’re using for SMTP within Reflect and check what you captured afterward. If that indicates that Reflect did in fact send email successfully as it claimed, then this probably isn’t the forum to provide a resolution.

Will try added email address to the current one and get back

I know that anecdotes prove nothing, but I have Macrium Reflect on 5 computers all successfully sending success/warn/failure emails - 18 a day when all 5 computers are up and running.  I've never seen Reflect fail to send them.  That doesn't prove the Reflect is faultless, but it demonstrates that the problem probably relates to your environment, not to Reflect in general.

As I noted, this was working for ages, then stopped, in that maybe 2 or 3 of the emails arrived, rather than all  5 as previously. Will see what happens today with an extra email address added for all five backups

@JeremyP99 What sending mail server is configured in Defaults and Settings / Email Settings ?  The setup screen has a Test capability.  You can send the test mail anytime without having to re-configure the email server in Reflect, and don't have to wait for a backup to run. What happens when you put the two semi-colon separated destination addresses there and send a test that uses the same path as the email sent by scheduled jobs?

I'ved always used Google - Gmail to send my Reflect email, and have had it suddenly quit working.   The reason turned out to be I had changed my google/gmail password and failed to change it in Reflect's email setup.   Simple fix: In Reflect, sign out of the email sender, and set it up again.
