We're new to Site Mgr 7 and find image backups block WS 2022 Std Hyper-V Virtual Machine Replications when backups are running. I don't believe non-MAL Macrium Server 7 did that.  Replications MUST continue unobstructed. Is there a workaround?

Hi,

Site Manager and Reflect 7 use exactly the same mechanisms to perform backups - there should be no difference between them whatsoever. Reflect/the Site Manager agent never intentionally block other software, but it may be that something we require for backup (creating a VSS shadow copy) may be causing this. It might also be timing related if replication occurs while a shadow copy is in the process of being created.

You can contact our support team for assistance in working out why this is happening and they may be able to offer advice. Site Manager 7 is out of support though, so they may not be able to offer as much support as they would for a Site Manager 8 installation.

After deeply looking into this, I see that replication does happen while a backup is running, but only up to the time when the backup started. No data beyond the backup start time is replicated while the backup is running. Only after the backup is finished, will changed data be replicated.
