I am preparing to do my first restore of a file and folder backup.  The backup set to be restored contains the original full backup, plus one differential backup.  During the restore process, which backup file do I actually select: the full or the differential?  I could not locate the answer to this question in the Knowledge Base.  Thanks.

You can select either.  IF you want to restore your system to the state it was in when the full was created, select the full backup. However if you want to restore your system to the state it was in when the differential was created, select the DIFFERENTIAL.  Which ever backup file you select whether the first, the last, or one in between (though in your current case there are none in between) you system will be restored to the state it was in when that backup was created.

I want to restore my files to the point where the differential backup was taken.  If I understand your reply correctly, during the restore wizard process, I should select the differential backup file.  Then the restore will include everything in both the full and differential backup files.  Correct?
