Today there was a post on the forum that complained of bizzare boot menu Rescue Media behavior. It turned out that he ran out of disk space and manually removed files and directories on his disk to reclaim, and in the process deleted c:\boot.
Possibilities:
Keep it named boot, but hide and/or tag it as a system folder (In a way it is one).
Name it: RescueMediaBoot
Name it: ReflectBootFiles
Name it: ReflectBoot
Name it: ReflectBootMedia
Or Name it: Frank or George or Bill or Tom, anything but Sue (lyrics to a
Johnny Cash song
)

You can use a trick to have the folder name customized as it appears in File Explorer [
source
].
Place a text file named desktop.ini inside the \boot folder, and edit the file contents as follows:
[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=Reflect Boot Media - DO NOT DELETE
Then open a command window, and execute the following:
attrib +r \boot
Close, then restart File Explorer, and it should display the folder with your chosen name ("
Reflect Boot Media - DO NOT DELETE
" in the above example). If you look at the file properties of any file in the folder (or if you navigate into the folder and then click into the Explorer address bar somewhere to the right of the breadcrumb-style path), you will see that the actual name of the folder is unchanged.
