Folks,
I have a paid version of MR7, installed on my Win10 PC
I have bought a new Win11 machine and configured it up (what a job that was !) including new versions of all the applications that I will use.

Last steps needed are:
- to load MR
- to bring back my data files from a Files backup of my Win 10 machine
- to set up the boot option.

Here is the question.
- From where do I get a copy of MR version 7 ?
- Or am I supposed to download a version 8 ?
- And will I need to re-licence it ?
- And please confirm that V8 will read all my V7 backups :=)

I'd wait for confirmation from others, but this should do the trick:

1.  Remove the license code from your old machine (Help > Remove License). Be sure to write down the code.
2.  There may be other ways to get the v7 installer but this link to a forum post will get you there.  https://forum.macrium.com/47892/Download-Latest-v7x
3.  Download the installer to your new machine and run it.
4.  Enter your v7 license code.
5.  If at some point you upgrade to v8, it will read the backups you made with v7

EDIT:  You can also get the v7 installer from the v7 Knowledge Base here.

The V7 download agent is the correct way to get Reflect. The KB article has the link. It should also be in your license info email, or you can look at the license portal on the Macrium website.

No need to muck around with licensing as long as you remove your license from the old PC first.

The boot option is quickly set via Rescue Media Builder.

V8 can read V7 backups, and in fact V7 can even read V8 backups.

Once you have Reflect installed on the new computer, most importantly, create external rescue media to ensure that it boots the computer and can see all the internal and external disks that are used to create and store the images you will make.

You can also use Macrium Reflect Rescue Media Builder to create the Windows Rescue Boot Menu which will place you into the rescue environment without having to use external rescue media.  Once created and the computer is rebooted, a screen will be displayed where you can select the WRBM or your Windows OS. The Windows OS is selected by default and will boot into it after a period of time. The default time can be changed between 5 seconds, 10 seconds and 5 minutes. Other options can also be selected on this screen.  There are some drawbacks to using WRBM so always create external rescue media.
