I already use Macrium Reflect on a Desktop, Laptop and two HP microservers with 100% confidence in this software.
I recently bought an Asus T100HA transformer and would like to have Reflect backing this up as well.
Reflect installs and runs fine from  the Windows 10 desktop, but if I create rescue media and boot from it, the screen is rotated to portrait mode and
I lose the ability to use the touchpad and keyboard.

The keyboard/mouse problem must lie with the fact that the keyboard is a detachable unit which the T100HA tablet element plugs into converting it into a laptop.
I would guess Reflect is not picking up the drivers for the keyboard when creating the rescue media.
I can live with the rotated screen, whatever the cause. again I am guessing a driver issue.

Does anyone have any experience or advice to offer

When you create the rescue media and get to the "Rescue Media Drivers" window is your device in the list?  Does it have a green check or a red x next it?  Either way you could click on it then click on the Update Driver button and point the wizard to a location with a driver that might work better.  You can also add drivers manually to the rescue media and there are posts about doing that (and maybe even a KB article) but that is not something I've done before so I can't really walk you through that process.

Unfortunately, when creating the rescue media, only one device is shown and that is the usb controller. I have managed to copy drivers over as per the instructions in the Macrium FAQ. The tablet touchpad now partially works, that is I can use it to select and tap items however using it as a mouse is not possible as the pointer tracks all over the screen except where you expect it to go.  I am able to enter text in dialog box fields with the keyboard though.

Hi Gjbth,

Thanks for posting.

To expand further on Gorks answer, if you have drivers for your dock, touch pad or other device which is stopping you from using it in WinPE you may have to copy the drivers to C:\boot\macrium\Drivers and rebuild your rescue media. The drivers would have to be supported in WinPE for this to work however.

Although this KB is a little old the procedure is the same for adding drivers.

Alternatively you can connect a USB mouse to the device.

Kind Regards

Stephen

Gjbth... Stephen's statement above is the key.  In messing around with many of the tablet configurations marketed with a Windows OS, I have found that some of the special drivers DO NOT WORK with WinPE and only work with the full Windows OS.  It has been a painful process to learn (Samsung, especially).

Stephen's MOUSE suggestion will likely be the most successful... although that has often turned out to be a pain due to the lack of USB ports within some of these devices.  I always have to keep a powered USB Hub laying around for many of these situations.

Thank you Stephen and Froggie, I would be more than happy if I could use a usb mouse. In fact I have already tried using one connected to the built in full sized usb 2 port and a seperate usb hub. The mouse is recognised but in both cases the cursor movement is so erratic it becomes unusable. I have given up on the portait screen rotation.

Have you tried using that USB mouse when the Asus T100HA is booted to its regular Windows working environment?  You may need to reboot after connecting it.  If it works okay for you that way, you might try recreating your Reflect WinPE rescue media with the USB mouse connected just in case its proper funtionalty needs some extra driver support that didn't get picked up on the previous WinPE build.

Thank you for the reply Arvy. I had already thought of that and tried it earlier. It didn't make any difference.
Must be a limitation of the T100HA and not reflect.

It is awkward to use Reflect with a rotated screen and a flaky mouse, but backups and restores still work perfectly.

Sorry to hear that, but at least the Reflect rescue recovery process works for you.  I've run into the WinPE issue that Froggie mentioned with some other systems, but Asus is usually pretty good if you can just get the right drivers into the WinPE build and the Reflect "wizard" generally picks up any USB stuff okay so long as it's present during the build process.  Asus must have done something really quirky in this case.  Might be interesting to look in the Windows Device Manager to see what it's using for Human Interface Device (HID) support and maybe video too.  But whether it would be possible to sort it all out in a "customised" PE build base seems doubtful in the circumstances.

Thanks again Arvy.
This morning I did a fresh re-install of Windows 10 and this seems to have cured the flaky mouse problem as all seems well now. If only I could find a cure for the 90 degree screen rotation when booting from usb..
Asus supply a good system for automating the installation of all of the required drivers, you just need to run the one executable and it cycles through installing everything which has been selected. Now when I freshly installed Windows 10 this morning
the screen was rotated 90 degrees until one particular driver was installed, then it rotated back to the expected orientation.  If I can just track this down I might get everything running 100%
