I just updated Windows 11 to 22H2 aka Windows 11 2022 Update and created a new ISO of the Rescue Media after updating the Rescue Media WIM.  What I noticed is the resulting ISO is now 29 MB larger than a CD according to UltraISO.  Past ISO's fit on a CD.  So, does WinRE Rescue Media for 22H2 now no longer fit on a CD?

EDIT: According to UltraISO, the Rescue Media does fit on a CD, but it's a minimum 703 MB/80 Minute CD.

WinRE-based builds will vary in size even more than WinPE-based builds because on top of the drivers that may need to be incorporated, which will vary from system to system, the WinRE partition is customized by Windows on a per-system basis before Reflect even gets to it. And there’s also the choice of whether to add WiFi support. So there won’t be a universal answer here, other than perhaps that with all else being equal, newer WinRE versions will typically be larger than older versions.

This is interesting.  The so called 703 MB/80 Minute CD ISO image actually burned to a 700 MB/80 Minute CD.  I absentmindedly burned to one of my old 700 MB CD's and the ISO that UltraISO says needs a 703 MB CD fit on a 700 MB.


So, go figure.
