Since the upgrade to Version 8.0.6906 we have been getting messages like the following. The backups continue to run, just a little disturbing.

Repository Uncontactable
Repository NASBackup has become uncontactable
Please check the Site Manager for further information.

Hi,
We added notifications for repositories becoming offline in the latest release - you can turn these off in Settings -> Notifications if you find that minor network glitches are triggering these. The event log will have a Repository Offline event which shows the reason for the error (or the somewhat cryptic message Windows gives us when we try to access the share!).
Repository offline status doesn't affect backup scheduling - this is because agents backup direct to repositories for performance, so there can be cases where the server can't contact the repository but the agent can. Also we don't want any bugs in the server's repository status detection to cause backups to be missed.

Kind Regards,

Alex

Thanks for that information. How often does the software query the repository?

Thanks for that information. How often does the software query the repository?

Every 2 minutes by default, but this is reduced when the number of repositories goes over certain thresholds. The notification and event log will only happen when the repository goes from online to offline, not on every failed check

Kind Regards,

Alex
