Since the upgrade to Version 8.0.6906 we have been getting messages like the following. The backups continue to run, just a little disturbing.
Repository Uncontactable Repository NASBackup has become uncontactable Please check the Site Manager for further information.

+xSince the upgrade to Version 8.0.6906 we have been getting messages like the following. The backups continue to run, just a little disturbing. Repository Uncontactable Repository NASBackup has become uncontactable Please check the Site Manager for further information. Hi, We added notifications for repositories becoming offline in the latest release - you can turn these off in Settings -> Notifications if you find that minor network glitches are triggering these. The event log will have a Repository Offline event which shows the reason for the error (or the somewhat cryptic message Windows gives us when we try to access the share!). Repository offline status doesn't affect backup scheduling - this is because agents backup direct to repositories for performance, so there can be cases where the server can't contact the repository but the agent can. Also we don't want any bugs in the server's repository status detection to cause backups to be missed.

Thanks for that information. How often does the software query the repository?

+xThanks for that information. How often does the software query the repository? Every 2 minutes by default, but this is reduced when the number of repositories goes over certain thresholds. The notification and event log will only happen when the repository goes from online to offline, not on every failed check

+xI have the notifications for the Repository Uncontactable turn off, but yet we keep getting emails? Hey - this might be a bug related to the old config files being upgraded. Can you try checking all the boxes for the repository alerts, saving settings and then unchecking them and saving again?

Sure, I actually thought about that but didn't do it. I'll force the changes and see if I continue to get them. I'm not even sure why we get them... all that equipment is on the same switch and it's a 10G connection. Shouldn't ever be a reason for it to be offline.

What happens is that the Site Manager server service periodically does a write check on the share behind the repository, and rely on Windows reporting the error back to use. That's not always down to network issues, sometimes there can be transient problems with login servers etc to authenticate the connection. If it happens too often, you can contact our support team and have a look at the logs.

We have the exact same problem, at some Macrium Site Manager installations. The Option to activate this kind of notification are available, but cannot be (de-)marked. The consequent is, that by some (not all) installations we are getting messages per mail, that the "Repository Uncantactable" (this happens with USB-Drives and also with RDX-Drives (which are also connected via USB))
Is there an updated planned or some other (hidden) option to deactivate this messages?

Hi, I'm not sure what you mean by "cannot be (de-)marked" - every email notification can be turned off in the Settings -> Notifications section, are you seeing the checkbox appearing disabled? This should not be possible.
