I have always received an email indicating whether the latest backup was a success or failure.
When originally setting up the schedule for either a Full or Incremental backup, I would receive an email indicating the success or failure of the backup.
Since I now have a new email address, I no longer receive this notification.
How can I change the email address I have listed for each condition? It is shown in the "Scheduled Backups" tab, but it cannot be changed there.

Go to the Backup Definition Files tab, right-click your file, select Edit, click Advanced Options > Email, and change email addresses for the appropriate outcomes.

Hi JP,

Apparently, if something can go wrong, it always will :-)

I my previous post I claimed: "Worked Like A Charm". Apparently that turned out to be only partially true. It was based on the fact that, after following your careful instructions, the correct new email account now appeared properly, for all backup types, under the "Scheduled Backups" tab. I was happy to assume that all was taken care of..... NOT SO!.

It seems that although all appeared to be taken care of, after running an Incremental backup last night, the expected email indicating a successful backup did not appear as expected.

Any thoughts, suggestions, or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Check the actual job log of the most recent Incremental backup to see whether it attempted to send to the correct email address in the first place. If so, it might also have logged an SMTP error in generating the email. I see that on very rare occasion. If Reflect sent to the wrong address, then the top line of that log will show the definition file that was used for the job. Edit that definition file according to the instructions I posted above.

The log does show my new email address and states, "Email Notification Sent",
The only information at the top of the listing is:  Image ID - 67CB854A08565F3E .
At the end of the listing, at the bottom of the page, it reads: Image and Verification Completed Successfully in 00:05:38

Recently I've noticed problems sending a response to an email from Macrium about upgrading. A pop-up appeared asking me to verify my outgoing SMTP settings. This included asking about a password. When I checked the outgoing settings, I never had a password associated with it, but everything else was ok.

It clearly appears that the problem is somehow related to SMTP settings but I never had a problem sending email.

Sorry to throw all this at you, I am an 87 year old non-techie and I appreciate your help.
Thank you once again.

There are some SMTP servers that will accept mail even without any authentication (username and password), especially if you’re only sending to mailboxes on that server’s domain, e.g. using Gmail’s SMTP server to send only to Gmail addresses rather than Outlook/Hotmail addresses. If the missing username and password were the reason you weren’t getting email, then you would see an error message to that effect in the job log. You can try the “Test” button under the email settings in Edit Defaults that you’re referring to in order to see if an email to your new address comes through as expected. if that works but your backup job isn’t getting email into your mailbox despite the log showing that the correct address was used and NOT showing any errors about sending the message, I’m not sure what to suggest. It’s especially strange given that as you noted previously, this started to work. So the only reasons I can think of why the Incremental would have behaved differently would have been if you were using a different definition file for that particular Incremental (possible, though unlikely) or if perhaps there was some transient issue with sending email on that specific occasion. That typically results in an error message about sending email in the job log, but I guess in theory it’s possible that Reflect sent the email to the SMTP server and then the server dropped it
