Yep, no need to touch anything else.

Yep, no need to touch anything else.

Cool, I'll give it a shot. Wish I could figure out the actual cause for these errors still!
Might try support one more time and if they can't figure it out, I quit

I'm getting the same error backing up to my NAS (shared as a  network drive), I do the 'fix VSS problems' and the backups run OK for a while, then fail again at some seemingly random time. It's been going on for several years, and from Windows 10 across to an 'upgrade' to Windows 11. It doesn't happen often enough to spend a lot of time trying to fix it, but just often enough to be irritating.

I'm curious to know if your little batch sorted it...?

I don't think it ended up working. I just gave up doing backups that way. Disappointing because Macrium backups are really easy to restore.

I just ended up switching to Synology Active Backup.
I had to restore an image one time so far and it screwed up my bootmgr somehow, so it was booting into a blue screen.
Don't know what that was all about but I think I just fixed it by using startup repair.

OK, thanks. I think I'll just put up with it - Macrium has saved my bacon often enough that the perceived advantages outweigh the irritations... ;-

Sorry, I think you're maybe looking at the wrong error.
The post you linked is for error 0x80042306 and the error I was experiencing is 0x80042316.

Also, Boxcrypter is not installed on my computer.

I gave up - while macrium backups were working better for me, I couldn't deal with the constant random error messages - either VSS errors or Credential errors pertaining to the NAS.
