As far as I know, this can't be done in the Win PE recovery environment.  If it can, someone can tell me how. 


I was hoping we could get a way to run saved Jobs that are saved by the Windows version of Reflect in the Win PE recovery environment.  The way it seems to be done now is that you have to manually set all the settings in a saved Job each time you run a Backup in the recovery environment.  The ability to run the Windows saved Jobs would help cut down on this time.  Because sometimes I forget a particular setting. 

I like the idea, but wonder if it's even possible since drives can be assigned differently in PE than in the full Windows environment.

Ah, yes.  I forgot about that.  There is a problem.  That's probably why it isn't implemented.

Actually, the Reflect PE version does a journeyman's job of assigning the LIVE Windows drive letters to the volumes it finds during the PE's interrogation.  Normally, PE would be a crapshoot doing this but Reflect goes beyond the call of duty to dig out the assignments used by the LIVE system and sets them up for your use.

That said... the function you're asking for is just not implemented in the PE version.  If it was, the PE could do just about anything the LIVE version could, and if the PE's ISO wound up in the wild... VOILA!, free Macrium Reflect.  I don't think you'll see it anytime soon.

I considered bringing that up, @Froggie.  I was aware that Macrium changed Reflect PE to attempt to assign the same drive letters as the "live" system.  However, since that can't be counted on 100% I decided not to bring that up.

About the PE version leaking into the wild.  Couldn't it already theoretically leak into the wild?  It wouldn't have the Jobs function as the Windows version but it's mostly functional.  I've not tested if the File backup works under PE so I don't know if that functionality extends to the PE version.

The PE can easily leak to the wild w/PE-based drivers and the leakers drivers only.  And yes, it's mostly functional as far as its imaging/restoration capability is concerned.

Of course, the WinPE recovery disc isn't as convenient.  You'd have to leave Windows each time you wanted to perform a backup or recovery operation.  But, I guess if one really wanted to pirate the software, it's a solution.
