I have a couple questions about this option which is found under Edit/Schedule:
I leave my computers (Win10 & WinXP) on during the night & schedule 2 backups on each of them. I have one of them backup to an external drive & one backs up to a thumb drive (which I remove & reinsert daily).
1. If the first backup doesn't finish before the next one is scheduled, will the 2nd one still start on time or will it wait for the first one to finish?
2.  I prefer to leave this option is UNchecked because, if I shut down both computers while I'm on vacation, I don't want to do a backup as soon as I start up the computer. Will this prevent either scheduled backup from running at their next scheduled time?
3.  Will the answers be the same for version 8?
Thank you in advance!

Reflect doesn't support multiple simultaneous backups, so if a backup is running when the scheduled time of another backup arrives, then the backup that is already running will be allowed to complete, and then the scheduled backup will start late.  Reflect will not cancel a running backup just to start some other backup on time.  This also means you don't have to worry about scheduling a backup late enough that a previous backup is guaranteed to have completed.  You could for example start Job A at 4 AM and Job B at 4:01 AM.  Unless Job A is VERY fast, it is unlikely that Job B would ever actually start at the scheduled time, but this setup would always result in Job B running immediately after Job A.

If you uncheck the option to run a backup immediately after a missed occurrence and then miss some occurrences of those backups due to your PC being shut down, that will absolutely NOT prevent future backups from occurring as scheduled.  A scenario where missing any previous backup caused all future backups not to run would be....problematic, to say the least. Smile

This would all apply to V8, and would also apply regardless of whether you're using Macrium Task Scheduler or Windows Task Scheduler.
