I like to archive full offline installers for each new version that I update to. I just updated to v7.3.5925 via the in--app update option, but I'd also like to download the full installer. Which I can't find anywhere. Does someone have a link to the latest v7 release. One reason for this is that if I decide I don't want v8, I can easily go back to v7.

I tried using the Reflect Download Agent, but it keeps failing with "Error Code1." The log is showing a 403 error. So how do I get v7?

Thanks.

Be sure to download the latest version 7 reflectdlfull.exe at the link below or you will get an error.

https://updates.macrium.com/reflect/v7/reflectdlfull.exe

Run the reflectdlfull.exe, select the box to enter your version 7 license key and deselect run installer after download.

For me on Windows 10, the Reflect installer downloads into the Downloads\Macrium folder. Archive the installer.

You don't always need the latest version of the Download Agent to get the latest Reflect installer version, but it is sometimes necessary.  If you get HTTP errors or if the installer downloaded is an older version, then you should snag the latest version of the Download Agent to get the latest Reflect installer.

There's no need to enter your license key in the Download Agent to get the proper installer for you.  Entering the license key in the Download Agent only applies when you have the option to run the installer after downloading.  If you enter it into the Download Agent and it runs the installer, the Agent pipes the license key entered into it into the installer on execution.

Thanks to Reflecting Mirror and dbminter.

Updating the Download Manager took care of the issue. I never even considered that I was using an olde4r Download Agent, but as soon as I updated it I was able to download the full installer.

Again - thanks.

I discovered it by accident.  One time I went to download the latest version with a decidedly older Download Agent and it didn't download the latest version, just an older one.  So, I downloaded the latest Agent and it downloaded the current Reflect full installer.  I don't really know why older Agents can't find newer installers sometimes, but it does seem to be the case.

At some point in the past when I was using version 5 or 6, I thought if you did not provide your license key during the downloader that you got a different Reflect installer that had the word "free" as part of the file name. Testing the downloader without the license key, I see that you get the same Reflect installer as when using the key.

That could actually be a fairly good idea.  If you don't provide a key, you get the Free version installer and providing the key gives you the trial version where you can enter your key or enter it later if you don't run the installer directly.  However, there's also valid argument for leaving it as it is because the Free version, I don't think, is made available at the same time as a new gold release.  The Free release comes later.

I was explaining the reason behind why I instructed phred to enter his version 7 license key into the version 7 downloader. I was not making a suggestion that Macrium needed to make a change to their downloader.

Still, I think it has merit.

My method of updating has always been via the application itself. And then grabbing the full installer after the fact.

When using the download manager I have always entered my license and uncheck the 'install when downloaded' (or however it reads.) Again, having the installer is really for archive purposes.
