When the task scheduler has been switched from Windows Task Scheduler to Macrium Task Scheduler and the condition “Wake the computer to run this task” is selected for a schedule, and the task’s Shutdown option is set to suspend the computer after making the backup, the computer is woken up twice. The first time happens (correctly) when the backup is scheduled. Then, after the backup has been made, the computer is (correctly) suspended. But then about 1-2 minutes later the computer is woken up again. For both wake events the Event Log (System - Power-Troubleshooter) states that the cause of waking up was MacriumService.exe.
This only happens with tasks that have been converted when switching from Windows Task Scheduler to Macrium Task Scheduler. Newly created schedules made when Macrium Task Scheduler was selected do not suffer from this issue. But when the scheduler is switched to Windows Task Scheduler and then back to Macrium Task Scheduler the issue begins to occur. It does not happen when Windows Task Scheduler is selected.
I do not know whether it is relevant, but the schedule’s conditions that are set are “Run task as soon as possible after a scheduled start is missed”, “Start the task only if the computer is on AC power” and “Wake the computer to run this task”. I am using Reflect Home v7.3.5365 on Windows 7 x64. For now I have reverted back to Windows Task Scheduler.

Yep - having the exact same problem. Took a bit it figure out what was happening (more laziness on my part than difficulty finding the culprit). In my case MacriumService.exe wakes the machine exactly 5 min after the scheduled start time for an incremental task that takes less than 90 sec to run. The reflect scheduler successfully puts the machine to sleep after task completing, as instructed, but a subsequent wake event occurs as described above. This only started happening after the job was converted as described by @pimjoosten
BTW - I am a long time (decade+) Macrium Reflect user with multiple personal and business licenses (some for my company; several technicians licenses for the firm I currently work for). For whatever reason my prior personal forum account was lost; hence this appears to be my first post under a new identifier (lol).

Are either of you using third party antivirus, malware, or firewall applications? The reason I ask is I experienced a problem with a 5 minute delay on schedules. While probably not related to the issue here, tech support determined my problem was caused by ZoneAlarm firewall. It was causing my schedules to execute on a 5 minute delay. Once I uninstalled ZoneAlarm, the problem went away.

Nope - Microsoft Defender and Window native firewall. Interesting observation on ZoneAlarm (albeit irrelevant in my case).

Yes, I was surprised, too. ZoneAlarm never interfered with Reflect before, but after Macirum released Reflect 7.3.x, it did. So, something changed in Reflect that ZoneAlarm didn't like.

I am using Norton Internet Security, but would it not be strange that it would cause waking up the computer twice? Although strange, I can imagine a delay because of anti-virus, but a second restart? Anyway, let's see what Macrium says about this issue, particularly because DB126 does not use any third-party AV.

I reported the issue to Macrium support; was asked to provide some additional info. Will post meaningful updates here.
And no, this has nothing to do with anti-malware components currently installed on endpoint.

I am surprised that Macrium did not reply in this thread, usually they are very fast. I always report issues via the forum and then sometimes also by opening a support ticket when asked. Did you refer to this thread?

Hi Pim and DB126, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We've been able to reproduce this issue at our end. We are currently investigating the cause, and hope to release a fix shortly in a future update to Reflect.
Kind Regards Andrew Macrium Development
