Cyclic Redundacy Check during Restore attempt

I'm getting a cyclic redundancy check error during an attempted image restore. Is the error on the drive on which the backup image is stored or on the drive to which I am trying to restore?

Is there any error code or any other text at all around that error? Can you post a screenshot? If you’re doing this in Rescue Media, you can capture a screenshot by clicking the camera in the taskbar and choosing where to save the file.

My second try to restore resulted in "Restore fail - Error 9", which is different from the first error message.

No, that's it. It's a data drive, not a boot drive. The old drive failed, I replaced it, and now I'm trying to restore the data.

As a first step,  I would have Reflect verify the image you are trying to restore.  This will indicate whether the image is readable (not corrupted). 

Launch Reflect > Restore Tab > Locate the image you are trying to restore and click on it > Other Actions > Verify.

Boot your computer from your rescue media and try verifying again.

OK, but I'm not using rescue media. The boot drive and OS are fine.

Do it anyway just in case something running within Windows is interfering with Reflect.  It's happened before.  Rescue Media is a stripped down environment that removes a lot of variables.
