Why do I get these error messages when I try to open an image? What to do?

"You don't currently have permission to access this folder" and

"You have been denied permission to access this folder"

Some folders do that when you mount images and try to open specific folders, but not ALL folders should do this.  Don't know why it would do that.

Try this.  When you mount an image, there should be a check box that says Enable access to restricted folders.  Try checking that and see if that helps.

Checking the "Enable access to restricted folders" checkbox when mounting the image will resolve this.  As to why it happens when you don't do that, if this is an image that was captured from a different PC and you're trying to access certain locked down folders, such as user profile folders -- or it's an image of the same PC where you're mounting the backup and you're trying to access someone else's user profile folder or some other locked down location -- I wrote this post to explain why it occurs.
