Can’t safely eject hard drive, I suspect Image guardian as the cause.

That's still good to know.  It's still a good data point as we know it wasn't an issue just introduced into Windows 10 2004 like the CBT issues of it turning itself on and off.

Try logging off your session, and then logging back onto your computer. This is quick and might work in order to allow you to safely eject the drive. If this doesn't work, the following definitely will.

If you can't eject a removable drive, you can open Control Panel, launch Administrative Tools, and then launch Computer Management. Then select Disk Management. In disk management, you can then take the disk offline so that you can safely eject the disk. Note that you will have to follow the same procedure, except to put the disk online, the next time you attach that disk. This is a kludge, yet it works.

Already tried logging off then logging on & while it works once it never allows me to disconnect again. I’m not going to keep doing this as I hardly disconnect anyway.
Currently working with support as it seems there’s other problems with CBT which are appearing.
The CBT icon is greyed out even though I’ve restarted & run backup several times, CBT init is successful.

Well, that's unusual.  CBT icon greyed out yet CBT init is successful?  I've seen several instances where CBT icon is greyed out but CBT init never reinitializes even after restarts.

It wasn’t working at all but support sent me a fix (new .dll) but while this allowed CBT to work the icon is still greyed out.
Wondering if it’s a 2004 bug.
