I am obviously doing something very silly because (after a git fumble/scramble I needed to get back to yesterdays clean point) and chose the incremental shown for the data partition, and tried a partition restore that, after 5 min of whirring, appears to work, but the resulting partition appears unchanged.  Old log files deleted are not restored, and old versions are not restored either.

If I mount the partition with a drive letter, I see the old files and files versions that I expect.

Suggestions on what am I doing wrong?  Paul

Thanks for this follow-up.

The 'very silly' was an obsolete unnamed partition, so that I could not pick the active partition, but did not understand this.  Macrium did exactly what it should do.
I should have realised before that inability to filter by my active drive letter was a warning sign that I had a muddle in the making.

I can now see my way to resolving my mistakes.

The Windows assignment of letters to partitions must also fall into the 'very silly' category?
