You don't need to touch definition files after updates. To my knowledge, the Reflect application is backward compatible with definition files created by versions from at least a few years ago, possibly even the very beginning (not sure on that). Typically the only time you'd need to update definition files is if you want to reconfigure something or you've made some changes to the source data that requires you to update the definition file accordingly, e.g. renaming/restructuring your backup source folders (or changing your partition layout in the case of image backups, etc.) I would discourage unnecessarily deleting and recreating definition files. It's just more opportunity for something to be done incorrectly at some point.
