I may have already asked this question earlier but it seems not to show up so maybe I forgot to Send or Submit it.

I am running Reflect version 7.2 trial and have done several backups of Folders.  I was under the idea that I could double click on a definition file and have another backup created.  I did just that and the only thing that happened showed a screen containing what looked like an html file.  No backup started.

What did I do wrong or am I misunderstanding the purpose of a definition file?

You’re not misunderstanding, but that’s not quite how it’s done. There are two ways to launch a job from a definition file:

- Open Reflect, go to the Backup Definition Files tab, right-click your definition file there, and select Run Now > Desired backup type.

- In Reflect, right-click your definition file and select Create Desktop Shortcut. That will give you an icon you can double-click at will outside of Reflect to run the job. You can either set it to run a specific type of backup or prompt you each time, or of course make multiple different variants of that shortcut if you want.
