Create VirtualDisk failed with error code 5
Could not mount the image file.
Virtual machine [viBoot - B1CFCA2919EBC8CB-00-00.mrimg] could not be built.

I am wondows 10 UEFI

Tried all what I could including suggestion of anti virus exception etc.

Any thoughts pls

​​As I am sure you are aware, error code 5 is a Windows error and
is defined as ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED. This implies that the CreateVirtualDisk
function was prevented from mounting the VHDX file that viBoot created.

​​Unfortunately, there are many reasons why this could be occurring...

​​The most common is that anti-virus software is holding a lock on the target file and/or folder, but you’ve stated that you have already
added an exception for viBoot.

​​Another common cause is folder permissions. This would be
the viBoot folder defined in the “Virtual Machine Repository” setting in the
viBoot options (typically “C:\ProgramData\Macrium\viBoot”). Please see the

​​Other causes are not so obvious and would be easier to diagnose

Thank you for your reply. 
I did for folder permission as suggested. It worked to next step.

However unfortunately faced another error. Pls help.

The application encountered an error while
attempting to change the state of 'ddd'.
Taking a checkpoint of 'ddd' failed.
The operation cannot be performed while the object is
in its current state.

Tried a lot of options by reading on google but nothing helped.

Any suggestions please.

This seems like a Hyper-V configuration issue.

​​​​Please can you confirm if you are able to create and start virtual machines in Hyper-V without using viBoot?​
