Hi,
I just had a bad experience with Macrium Reflect Home. I did a restore using a backup image that I'd made an hour earlier and when I rebooted Windows couldn't start. Eventually after a week of effort I got my laptop working again. It's been stable for a while but I'm not sure if it will stay that way.
Meanwhile 6 days after submitting a support request I've received no help. They asked me for some logs the second day but that's it. I've updated the request as I've worked but I've received not a word from Macrium. So much for a 72 hour response. I just purchased a multiuser home license and I expected better.
My biggest problem is that I have no idea when this failure will recur or how to prevent it. I have 2 weeks of rolling incremental images. Even though Macrium has never reported a backup error, all but 1 image that I've tried (restore or browse) are broken in some way. It appears that if I hadn't done a restore and found this error I soon would have had no good images.
I'm not sure what to do. How likely is it that Macrium will silently produce bad images again? Is Macrium support typically this unresponsive? Should I keep using Macrium or look for a more reliable backup solution? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mike
