I'm getting MapAndValidateXML Failed popping up often.  Recently when I entered a new schedule.

I  just restored the disk the program is on.  A search for the error does not show up any previous entries.

Suggestions?

Thanks
Al

When you did the restore, did that roll Reflect back to an older version?  If so, try updating it and seeing if that resolves the issue in case a newer version added an XML tag that the older version doesn't know about.  Otherwise, the XML file in question is your job definition file, so if your job definition isn't too complicated, it might be easiest to just manually create a new one from scratch, add your desired schedule entries to that one, and then delete the old file.  As long as you make the same selections, Reflect will continue to build on any existing backup sets.

Hi Al

MapAndValidateXML error will occur if you initiate a Clone from a clone definition where the source of the clone cannot be found on the PC. This could be because partitions have changed size or if the source disk signatures have changed.

Kind Regards

How would you go about fixing this issue. The drive seems to be running fine. But that is what happened. It was  a clone from a clone.

Right-click the definition file, re-select the current desired source and destination disks/partitions, and click Finish so that Reflect updates the definition files with the correct IDs.

Right-click the definition file, re-select the current desired source and destination disks/partitions, and click Finish so that Reflect updates the definition files with the correct IDs.

When I click on the Definition File tab i have two files in it. One says MyClone(1).xml the other says MyClone.xml. When I click on one i get the error. If i right click I get the Edit, Rename...ect drop down list. When I double click it wants to start another clone. If i hit Finish it I have to add a different SSD drive which is just a storage drive.

Based on the definition file naming, it sounds like you stepped through the clone wizard twice and chose to save the job as an XML file both times, keeping the default name. Given that clone jobs are pretty simple to define, if this is a clone job you want to run on a recurring basis, it might be easiest to just delete the existing definition files, go through the wizard again to select your desired source and destination, customize any advanced options, and click Finish. At that point you can UNCHECK the “Run this job now” option if you don’t want to do that immediately, but keep the option to save the job as an XML file, and I’d suggest naming it something more descriptive by customizing the text field below that checkbox. From that point on, you can always run that specific clone job by going to the Definition Files tab rather than going through the wizard.
