Hi

Thanks for posting.  Sorry you are having problems.

It looks like the Inter-process Communication (IPC) between Reflect and ReflectMonitor is being prevented.  Can you make sure that both 'ReflectBin.exe' and 'ReflectMonitor.exe' are added to any Anti-Virus software exclusions list? Can you also let us know what AV software you are running so we can try and reproduce?

Kind Regards

Nick

I own 360 Total Security!I don't add these files to trust directory but today adding.

I'm runing ESET Smart security 9, and adding those two executables to my exclusions list has had no effect.
A bit of additional info: if you run a manual backup it runs successfully.  If you then try to trigger a scheduled job, instead of the blank window pictured in the OP you get the results of the previous (completed) backup, and nothing progresses any further.

@Jonnyroz

Thanks for posting.   The 'Blank' backup status Window was resolved in v7.0.2089 as was the problem with the notification icon.

If you are seeing the results of the last backup then there is no backup currently running as the previous backup log data is deleted at the start of a backup. Can you confirm that the scheduled task is actually running by checking the 'Status' of the scheduled backup in either Reflect or the Windows Tasks Scheduler?

Kind Regards

Nick

Hi Nick
Thanks for the fast response.
I've rebooted since my last post so the status window is now blank again.  I can confirm that I have version 7.0.2089; the scheduled task has a status of "Running" in both Reflect and the Windows Task Scheduler.  If I try to cancel it from the Status window it asks if I'm sure (to which I click Yes) and then nothing happens.  If I try to cancel it from the Scheduled Backups tab in Reflect, nothing happens.  I can end the task from the Windows Task Scheduler, but ReflectBin.exe, ReflectMonitor.exe and ReflectUI.exe remain in the task manager.  ReflectUI.exe will not even close if I shut down my computer, unless I force close it beforehand via the task manager, or choose "shut down anyway" from the windows shutdown screen.

It's worth noting that I fist noticed this immediately after upgrading from version 6, so I completely uninstalled the app and all associated backup definitions, reinstalled from scratch and recreated my backup jobs afresh.  Scheduled backups worked fine the very first time (full backup) before reverting to the above behaviour.  Neither full, incremental or differential jobs will run.

Hi

Thanks for getting back.

It sounds like the backups are stalling, this is why the 'Cancel' function in both Reflect and ReflectMonitor aren't cancelling the backup and also would explain why there's no log output.  Can you open a support ticket so we can request further information.

Thanks
